About Annick Press

Annick Press is open to children's book submissions by email, with no agent needed. Picture books send the full manuscript; middle grade and young adult send the first chapter and a synopsis; nonfiction sends a sample chapter and outline. It cannot reply to every submission individually.

Annick Press is a proudly independent children’s publisher in Toronto, founded in 1975. It publishes for toddlers through young adults: picture books, middle grade and young adult fiction and nonfiction for children of all ages, favoring stories with contemporary themes even when set in the past.

Annick encourages submissions from LGBTQ2SIA+, Indigenous, Black and people of color creators and creators living with disabilities. Submissions go by email. Picture book authors generally should not send illustrations; illustrators send samples to a separate address. Annick says it cannot respond to every submission individually.
