About Myriad
Myriad Editions is closed to submissions right now. When it reopens, it takes email submissions from agents and directly from authors of graphic novels, literary fiction and narrative nonfiction. The next window will be announced on its website and social media.
Myriad Editions is an independent publisher based in Brighton in the UK. It publishes graphic novels, including documentary comics, graphic reportage, graphic medicine, fiction and memoir, along with literary fiction and a select list of literary and feminist narrative nonfiction. It brings out around three new graphic books a year and runs a biennial First Graphic Novel Competition for debut authors. Titles include The Bad Doctor by Ian Williams and Hole in the Heart by Henny Beaumont.
Myriad is not accepting submissions at present. When a window opens, it takes submissions by email from literary agents and directly from authors. Prose writers attach a complete manuscript as a Word document, while graphic authors send a sample PDF of no more than 10MB plus a link to the complete work. Fiction is read only at specific times of the year. If you hear nothing within two months, assume the answer is no.

Questions about Myriad
Does Myriad accept unsolicited manuscripts?
Not at present. Myriad Editions is closed to submissions, and the next window will be announced on its website and social media. When it reopens, it accepts work directly from authors as well as from literary agents. It does not accept paper submissions, and posted material is not returned. Narrative nonfiction needs a complete manuscript, not a proposal alone.
How do I submit to Myriad?
When a window is open, send an email covering why Myriad is right for your book, your previous publications and competition successes, at least two comparable titles from the last five years and a synopsis. Attach a complete manuscript as a Word document for prose. For graphic books, attach a sample PDF of no more than 10MB plus a link to the complete work.
How long does Myriad take to reply?
Myriad says that if you hear nothing within two months, you should assume your submission was unsuccessful. That makes about eight weeks the period to watch after you send. Fiction is read only at specific times of the year, so check the guidelines when the next window opens before you send a novel or story collection.
