About Coffee House Press

Coffee House Press is not accepting unsolicited submissions right now. When it reopens, it reads literary novels, story collections, poetry, creative nonfiction, essays and occasional memoir through its online submissions manager, with no fee. Reviews take 4 to 6 months or longer.

Coffee House Press is an independent literary publisher in Minneapolis, founded in 1972. It publishes literary novels, full-length story collections, poetry, creative nonfiction, book-length essays and, occasionally, memoir, along with work that does not fit neatly into genre categories. Most of its emerging and midcareer authors have published in literary magazines, though that is not required.

Coffee House is paused for unsolicited submissions and asks writers to watch its submissions page. When it is open, everything goes through its online submissions manager, there is no fee to submit and a review can take four to six months or longer.
