About Char
I am a professional artist and illustrator and have been building my career since 2003, specialising in animal and creature artwork that captures both anatomical accuracy and individual personality. My work combines a close appreciation for animal behaviour with expressive characterisation, bringing each subject to life through its unique attitude, movement and presence.
I am the creator of The Golden Troupe, a graphic novel series inspired by a past-life story set in the Achaemenid Empire, featuring a travelling group of animals and their human companion. My approach balances careful observation, storytelling and expressive visual design, treating animals as characters in their own right rather than simply subjects to draw. Whether I am developing original creatures or illustrating familiar species, I aim to create work that feels believable, distinctive and full of personality.
