Renike

I'm Renike, an award-winning visual artist, illustrator, and book cover designer passionate about creating a safe space for women by depicting them in soft, authentic, and relatable ways. Over the years, I’ve had the joy of collaborating with top global publishers like HarperCollins, Penguin Random House, and Scholastic, as well as brands like Casio, Hulu, and Dark & Lovely. I’ve also illustrated book covers for inspiring authors and public figures like Aminata Touré, Nicola Yoon, and Coe Booth, with features in Vogue, CNN Africa, GQ South Africa, and Essence.  
My creative journey began in childhood and grew through my studies at the University of Lagos, where I earned a Bachelor’s in Visual Arts (Graphic Design) and picked up digital art during an internship. Since then, I’ve kept experimenting across both digital tools like my iPad Pro, Wacom Cintiq, and MacBook and traditional mediums including charcoal, watercolour, oils, and acrylics.
I was named one of Leading Ladies Africa’s 100 Most Inspiring Women in Nigeria, received the Lord's Achievers Award, won The Future Awards Africa Prize for Art and Literature (2023), and was honored as one of JCI’s Ten Outstanding Young Persons in Nigeria (2025).
When it comes to my process, I love to daydream, visualise and do deep research before creating. For book commissions, I fully immerse myself in the manuscript to map out the characters' journeys before creating, ensuring every piece tells a meaningful story.
