John Schmucker

I’m a ghostwriter and author with thirteen years of published writing behind me. Two of the books I have ghostwritten were published by Wiley. In the acknowledgments of the second, the author writes that we went from our first conversation to a finished 75,000 word manuscript in about four months, which was before AI writing tools were in common use. My other ghostwriting runs from business influencers to an internationally touring musician, that one built from around 50 interviews.

Under my own name I have published five books, including a memoir. Before books I spent five years as a staff writer and editor filing daily copy, and I have published thousands of articles since.

I work in memoir, business and prescriptive nonfiction, technology, and narrative nonfiction. My process starts with recorded interviews and an outline the author can push back on, then chapters on a schedule. I am comfortable being invisible, and I am a Professional Member of the Association of Ghostwriters.
