About Linda
Native speaker of US English with a Ph.D. in German (literature) from the University of California, Berkeley, and over 25 years' experience as a freelance DE-EN translator. My most recent translation is of Martina Hefter's 2024 German Book Prize-winning novel, "Hey, Good Morning, How Are You?" (Fig Tree/Penguin Random House UK, April 2026).
I especially love working directly with authors to ensure I capture the exact tone, register, and voice of their texts, so I tell the story they're telling, just in my language.

A literary translation that actually reflects ALL the nuances of what the author is trying to say. I strive to provide the perfect translation of your book, a text so smooth that no one will suspect it's a translation. I aim to make your words come alive, just in my language.
