Tenesha L. Curtis
Fiction, Self-Help
About Tenesha
I have an academic and professional background in psychotherapy for addictive diseases, and currently work full-time as the publishing manager at Get Book Help. As an indie author myself, I have real-world, first-hand experience with exactly what my clients are experiencing—no theories, no hearsay, I live it. I've worked with just about every genre on the market (erotica, self-help, mystery, fantasy, kid lit, bildungsroman, romance, etc.), am the president of Sisters in Crime Atlanta where we support an international membership of crime fiction authors, and serve as the coordinator for the Georgia chapter of the Editorial Freelancers Association.
While I'm open to working on a variety of project types, my clinical background gives me a significant advantage when it comes to niches such as psychological thrillers, dark romances, and self-help books. Understanding the human brain, interpersonal dynamics, and intrapersonal motivations is how I guide my clients toward writing engaging fiction that features four-dimensional characters and clear nonfiction that effectively educates.

Alpha Reading
Partial and first drafts can go off the rails fast. But having professional editorial help in the early stages of developing your manuscript means writing fewer problems into your next draft so you don't need to fix them later. An alpha reading of your partial or full manuscript will provide you with 1 - 3 pages of superficial feedback that helps you side-step common mistakes newbie authors make.
