Yes, and the working file decides the price. A clean Vellum or InDesign file can usually be corrected. A Word file full of pasted page breaks and mixed indents is normally faster to rebuild than to repair, so it is quoted as new work. No. The package price, the published rate for extra words or pages, and any published add-ons are the price. Word count, page count and add-ons are confirmed when we confirm your order, and that figure is the one you are invoiced. The only change comes from scope you add later, such as moving from Ebook to All three editions or adding custom art, priced from the same published table.

You receive the editable source file, in InDesign or Vellum, with every finished file your package covers: the print-ready PDF, the EPUB ebook, or both. You hold 100% of the rights. A second edition, a translation or an audiobook companion PDF all start from that source file, so the next update takes hours instead of a rebuild.

Before delivery, print files go through the KDP and IngramSpark print checks and ebooks through EPUBCheck, then ebooks are tested in Kindle Previewer, Apple Books and Kobo, so upload failures are rare. Anything caused by our typesetting, including a platform rule change, is fixed free for 30 days after delivery. Changes to the manuscript itself are billed as an extra round of changes, at $75.

Ask three questions. Which checks run before delivery, since EPUBCheck alone does not catch Kindle display faults. Which devices the file is tested on, since a valid EPUB can still break on a specific reading app. And whether you receive the source file or only the finished ebook, since a conversion you cannot edit means paying again for every future correction.
